How Knowledge Assists Intuition

When you are a channel (and everyone is), Spirit communicates messages to you and through you in a variety of ways. We often talk about how trust is such an important factor in this communication process, and it is; but another thing that can also facilitate this communication process is enhancing your own knowledge base.

You may wonder why this is, doesn’t Spirit know everything? Well, yes they have access to all knowledge, but how can they properly communicate or convey something to us that we do not know? They cannot. This is because they have to use our vocabulary to communicate. In the world of Spirit, they communicate amongst each other and with us through telepathy. But, because we on Earth, and have these things called words, our communication process must go through the confines of language.

When we learn a new word, it settles into the vocabulary that Spirit can use from our subconscious. When we have the ability to explain a new process or technology, Spirit can use that new knowledge to assist others. And, when we learn a new skill, Spirit can learn that along with us too. When you are a channel for energy, this process allows the energies working with you to learn through your body.

Sometimes you can receive specific intuition about learning a new topic, reading a specific book and so forth. This is all designed to assist you in your communication process. Sister (Aurora) likes to communicate with different individuals on a level to best assist their understanding, and because of this I can find myself receiving intuition about learning new slang, or keeping up with new technologies. When those new words or knowledge is stored in my subconscious, it allows for Sister to have a greater base of vocabulary to draw from when she does her channelings.

So whenever you get a piece of intuition about reading up on a new subject or researching something new, go for it. Trust that the intuition is there for a reason; not only are you learning something new in the process, but also you are providing the energies who you work with more knowledge to draw from when they speak through you.

Messages from Animals

Whenever you are outside in nature, it is a great fun to look at the animal friends that will come across your path. Sometimes these happenings are an everyday occurrence, but other times they will be unusual or get your attention in some way.

I live in an area where there are many wild rabbits, but they are often in hiding for much of the day. Friday night as my boyfriend and I walked to the grocery store, we saw six rabbits! First of all this was the most rabbits I had ever seen in one day, and they were all together, like a little rabbit family gathering their food for the evening. They were really calm too, some of them came up to us and another one was sleeping only 12 inches away, he just opened one eye looked at us and went back to sleep.

Talk about an unusual experience. Rabbits are known for being fearful and flighty, but these were the most confident rabbits I had ever seen, plus they were so cute! Because we do have many rabbits living in the area, I see them on my walks from time to time, but last night’s sighting was definitely unusual.

Whenever you have an unusual experience with seeing animals, take a look at what they are trying to say to you. Rabbits are known for procreating and bringing in new life. We saw the rabbits just as we were talking about future plans for our spiritual work, coincidence? No. Message? Yes! To us it meant that the ideas we were speaking of will come to fruition. Exciting :)

Now, sometimes the animals will just enjoy your energy, so if you have regular visitors to your backyard or deck, most often there is not a specific message there, other than to simply enjoy their beautiful energy. It is when you have a different experience than normal, or when you are asking for a sign, that messages can come through these interactions with animals.

Everyone has animal spirits that connect with them in different ways. These can be pets from current or past lives and also animal guides that can assist you. I have a raccoon for one of my guides, his name is Roscoe. My mom will tell you that when I was little I had a toy raccoon named Roscoe that I slept with every night. He was my favorite! I also am aware that whenever I see a raccoon that my animal guide Roscoe is there helping me to gather the guidance and materials I need to take the next steps on my life path.

You can also have animal guides to assist you with specific things in your life, like spiritual development, career or family. So look around and notice the fun ways that the animal world interacts with you. And, just like with anything else, the more that you listen, the more that the messages will reveal themselves to you.

Detachment

Detachment is not an easy thing. It is so hard to watch the people that we love to go through difficult life experiences. But, sometimes detachment is a necessary thing. Why? It allows the person to going through the experience to learn what they need to learn without our interference. Also, it allows us to preserve some of our energy for ourselves so that we can have clarity about what is happening.

Detachment is not ignoring something or pretending it is not there and it is not about removing yourself completely from someone’s life. So, what is detachment then? Detachment is a step of emotional distance where you separate yourself from what another person is choosing to do. For example, if you have someone whom you care about having problems with addiction, too much assistance often can fall in the unhealthy enabling category. But, when you can have detachment from what they are experiencing, your will be able to gain more clarity about what to do, if anything, for that situation.

Detachment is also a way for anyone to preserve their energy. This is because when you are detached, you only listen to your intuition, not to the emotions of the situation. If we were always to listen to our emotions (or others’ emotions), we would often react unnecessarily, and therefore put out energy that is not going to be used.

This is definitely a fine line to walk, and not easy to do. But, sometimes this is all we can do when we see someone making a series of choices that move them away from being their best self. We also have to remember that we do not know what another person’s path is and we do not know what experience will be there as a catalyst for change. By assisting this person today, you might unknowingly be preventing them from reaching their highest potential in the future. Perhaps they needed to be homeless in order to have that experience, and that experience of being homeless would lead them to create an outreach program in the future. We simply cannot know.

Detachment can be used in many cases and it is about letting Spirit lead and guide you to your own highest potential, and letting others experience their life lessons in a way that leads them to their highest potential. Detachment is truly about having unconditional love. Love not in the capacity of enabling, but love in the form of allowing pure energy to flow freely in and around any difficult situation. Love in the form of receiving intuitive guidance and trusting that Spirit has a Divine plan for everyone involved, even if we cannot see it right in this moment.

Assistance from Above

If we are open to it, help is always all around us. But, most of the time we are too busy, or have tunnel vision to be able to see/hear/notice it. There is such beauty in synchronicities, coincidences and other promptings that show us we are on the right direction in our path.

Have you ever had it happen where a book fell off a shelf and hit you on the foot? Maybe you got a wrong number that lead you to wonder about an old high school friend? Perhaps, you turned down the wrong street to find a great new restaurant, which you would have never seen it otherwise. Miracles are all around us and each time we are in tune with our own life, instead of trying to figure out tomorrow, we are able to experience even more of these Divine gifts.

To take a time out from the stress and busyness of life, try marking a day on your calendar to just be in the Now. That means NO planning for that day, other than to leave it open to see what comes in. It may be a bit uncomfortable at first, because we all have a tendency to feel like we need do something. But, if you can just sit and relax and let your intuition guide you in each moment, you will find that you have created a wonderful state of peace.

Smile at your neighbors, play with your pets, enjoy the nature around you, appreciate your home and family, these all happen right now and you can do them anytime. When you are appreciating in each of these small things, you can begin to notice how the other things you were stressed out about, or concerned over, seem to become more removed from your awareness.

This is simply because it is not our natural state to worry, but unfortunately we have just been taught through history to do so. Yet, if you think back to something that you worried and stressed about, how many times did a solution present itself? How many times were you directed to help or shown a resource? Even if it didn’t happen right away, you can see that through your life, a guiding hand has always been there to help.

I can remember one such experience where I didn’t know where our next meal was going to come from, yet we did not stress or give that situation any energy. Later that day, an unexpected check for $90 showed up in the mail as a refund from our insurance company.

The more that you are able to cultivate that peace and relaxation in your life, you will not only find that guidance flows to you consistently, but also that all of a sudden you are able to finish more tasks each day. By being in the Now, you become the master of time; you live from a space of oneness. In that place is where the miracles live, and where assistance from above is always available.

Power and Control

Are you giving your power away? You might not even know it. There are so many ways in which we view ourselves through the lens of another, and when we do this we are subconsciously saying that this other person, in some way, has power over how we feel about ourselves.

For example, when it comes to raising a child, many people around you will often give you their thoughts and opinions about how this is the best or that is the best, etc. But, we must remember that any advice given is based on that person’s particular experiences, life lessons and perspectives. And, often we may not share some of those things in common.

If we are someone who has a fear of confrontation, or even a fear of speaking up about what we believe, then we can easily let someone over power us. This happens because we do not speak up in these situations, even if it’s just to say “That is not what I believe.” By not speaking up we are telling the Universe on a subconscious level that our happiness or opinions take a back seat to everyone else.

When we are faced with such things, a great way to work though the energy is to ask yourself, what you are truly afraid of in this situation? With the example of raising a child, we could ask ourselves the following questions: What could happen if I tell so-and-so to back off? If they do not respect how I raise my child, am I prepared to tell them how I feel? Often we think that the other person’s response will be far worse than it really is.

This is just our Ego trying to prepare us for the “worst” based on negative expectations from our past lives. Perhaps we are afraid to confront someone because we fear that they will not be in our life, or we feel some sort of obligation toward them in some way. But, if they are not respecting us and our views, why are we still obligated to treat them a certain way?

The Universe always brings us situations to allow for an EVEN exchange of energy, but if we continue to allow a lop-sided relationship/friendship/etc in our life, then we are consistently giving this other person our power, without staking an equal claim it in ourselves. It is in these situations that we are giving our power away.

We are all equal of having love, happiness and respect in our life. But, we have to recognize that we are the ones who decide that. If our life is not a reflection of that equal give-and-take, we need to examine those dynamics and see what we can do to restore balance.

Speaking your Truth

Sounds like it should be easy? But, most of the time there is a level of apprehension when it comes to being exactly who we want to be. Once you have gone through the process of understanding what your truth is, the next big step in the process is to share that truth with others.

A big part of that sharing is to be a shining example of the truth in your heart. This simply means that you live your life in alignment with your beliefs. The difficulty comes in what to do when you meet someone who has different truths than you do?

Before you can even engage in a heart felt conversation on this level, you must be able to release any pre-conceived notions about being judged. For, if you expect others to judge you, you will keep drawing judgmental people into your life. But, instead if you ask for open minded individuals to be brought into your life for your own learning and love, that is who you will be surrounded by.

Humanity has a deep fear of being judged, whether it is from childhood, the workplace or even societal conditioning. Most of us are taught at an early age to compare others by differences and therefore judge those differences to be somehow “bad” when compared to ourselves. Even if you have released all of your judgments of others, there is often still a subconscious belief that others will harshly judge you.

It is a realistic expectation to say that you will never be judged? No. But, you can focus on bringing people into your life who are non-judgmental, and in not giving any energy to those individuals who may be judgmental of you in some way. You will never be able to control how others act toward you, but you can be in control of your reaction to them.

The difficulty here is to balance your speaking up for yourself without judging the other person for what they believe. In most cases, you can look for a common ground to begin with. Or ask the specific questions about where the foundation of their beliefs comes from. And, depending on that person’s communication of how they share their opinions, you might just have to say “That is not my truth” and walk away.

But, how do you know which course of action is best for the given situation? You will have to look at the other person’s energy. Are they trying to overpower you with their opinions? Then this is not someone who wants to share from the heart and you do not need to give this person energy and respect if they do not give it to you.

When you are speaking from the heart and have released any pride or sense of personal ownership based on your opinions, you can share and have wonderful enlightening conversation with others from a place of love, even if on the surface you feel as though you have nothing in common.

By interacting with others and being confident in who you are, you can increase your confidence in yourself and learn tools for empowering others to share of themselves from this space of love. And, by releasing all expectations of judgment, you allow for a sharing of ideals that furthers understanding, empathy and love instead of anger and hate.

Playtime is Spiritual too!

Just because something is fun doesn’t mean it cannot be a spiritual experience. Many times I see people get tunnel vision when it comes to their spiritual development, and they forget to have fun!! Yes, Fun. We take life too seriously, and Spirit works so hard to get us to lighten up, but until we release this conditioning that learning and understanding Spirit has to somehow be serious, it becomes more difficult for us to truly let go.

They have so much fun in the world of Spirit; laughing and playing jokes on one another. Why do we not do the same? We are often so focused on protecting ourselves from what others may think of us, that we forget to take time to play.

Just the other day when I was out grocery shopping, I had the urge to use an Aloe leaf like a sword. And, instead of over thinking it, I just allowed myself to be in the moment and have a pretend sword fight with my boyfriend in the produce department. Just a few years ago, I would have been worried about getting in trouble or I would have been thinking about what others were thinking of me, but instead I just had fun!

Spirit works so hard to get us to relax, but we are always going, thinking, doing, feeling like we have to go from getting one thing done to the next. We keep our minds so busy, that we can actually make it more difficult for Spirit to communicate with us.

But, if you allow yourself to play more, you will find that you are in a naturally open and receptive state. When you are at play, it is all your higher self; there is no Ego in sight! There is nothing more spiritual that being at one with yourself and being comfortable in that space.

So, the next time you feel the urge to play, do it! Allow yourself that time of joy and connection with your higher self. Not only will you be truly living in the now, but there will be a big grin on your face too :)

Three Easy Steps for Manifestation

One of the most exciting ways to use your energy for positivity is to use it for the process of manifestation. Now there are many books, lectures and so much information out there on this subject and it sometimes can be very confusing and even contradictory.

Let’s break this process down to its simplest components. Start by thinking about the manifestation process much like placing an order for dinner in a restaurant.

Step 1) Decide where to eat.
If you are in the mood for Italian food, but you go to a Mexican restaurant, then you are probably not going to be able to order the food that you want. In the manifestation process this is akin to setting your intentions. This process starts by looking at what you wish to manifest, you can be as detailed as you wish with this process. Just like if you know that the restaurant on 85th has the best Pizza in town, why would you go order your Pizza somewhere else? Be clear about what you want.

Step 2) Order your meal
Now you followed through on your decisions by arriving at the restaurant and sitting down at the table. It is time to tell your server what the specifics of your order are. Do you require special cheese? Are you a vegetarian? In terms of the manifestation process this is taking that intention that you created in step one and putting that intention into some form where you place that order with Spirit. This can be by writing it down, speaking it aloud to Spirit, using tools like vision boards or Spirit mailboxes and so forth.

There is no wrong way to place your order, but you do have to place it. Many people make it to the table and then they forget that they have to speak up and give the server their order. Your server cannot guess all of the specifics for your meal. Just like Spirit needs to focus their energy on bringing you what you need, not determining what that need is; that part must be done by you.

Step 3) Have fun until it arrives
This is the part of the process where most people get in their own way. Imagine that you placed your order with your server and then you follow them back to the kitchen, questioning them every step of the way on if they entered your order into the computer correctly, or if the chefs are cooking that order properly. Sometimes during this part of the process, you even decide to go back change the specifics of your order. All of these actions increase the time that you have to wait until you meal arrives. It sounds so silly when we speak of it in terms of ordering from a restaurant, yet this is precisely what most people do when they are working on manifesting things for themselves.

When you cannot fully let go and trust that Spirit is taking care of your order, you actually interfere with the process that is taking place. During this time, focus your mind elsewhere; live your life and have fun. Your order will arrive at the peak of flavor and at the right time, as long as you sit back and trust Spirit to do their job. But, if you instead keep asking them where it is or keep changing the parameters of it, well you are just going to have to sit back and wait longer. This is the most difficult part of the process, because most of us have a hard time letting go of the control. But, you must be able to release it in order to receive it.

Manifestation can be fun and easy, as long as you follow the simple steps above and most of all, view the process from a place of faith and trust. With just a small shift in thinking about manifestation in this way, you will find that the energy flows easier and that the results are always a wonderful blessing.

Enabling Others

There is a deep conditioning on the Earth plane that we are somehow responsible for the behavior of others in our life. This comes from years of holding onto family secrets and feeling like we need to defend our inner circle of friends and family. But, now that the energy is changing you will find that if you are holding on to these behaviors that you will become increasing fatigued and even may experience illness. This is happening because it is no longer your responsibility to hold up the energy of others who do not want to do it for themselves.

We are only responsible for ourselves and when we find love for ourselves and self-empowerment, those people in our life who are ready to find that same joy within them will naturally do so. But, there are always one or two people who are happy to stay where they are. And, this is not bad or good, it is simply their choice.

We all have people in our lives who are satisfied with the life they have, even if we view it as harmful, stressful or depressed. But, who are we to judge what this other person feels is appropriate for their own life?

What we have to understand is that when they make that choice, it is not our responsibility to change their minds or to dictate how that choice in their life should be lead. We do not know their life lessons and we cannot assume that what was for our highest good will also be the same for them.

At the same time we are not responsible for enabling the other person’s behavior either. If you know someone who thinks that they are a victim of life and you have spoken with them time and time again about changing their perspective or finding tools for empowerment and they choose not to use your advice, soon there will be a time when you are just wasting your own energy. This is a waste of energy because you are starting to stress out, worry or because anxious about helping this person who does not want to be helped.

This is when your body starts to accumulate that stressful energy inside, and you start to feel even worse about things. It is this energy that can lead to dis-ease, pain and other distresses. Instead, try to detach from what the person is doing, or how they are feeling and simply send them love if you wish. The energy of unconditional love is always used, even if the intended recipient is unwilling to accept it.

Remember that in order to best serve yourself and God, you must have the awareness of where your energy and emotions are going. Are they being used for love, or are they used for worry? Are they being used on someone who is willing to accept them? If they are not, then know it is not your obligation to change this person’s life, they need to be willing to do so for themselves.

Finding your Gifts and Talents

This is probably one of the most common questions that I am asked in an Email Reading, and there are many ways that you can find out this information. Before you even ask this question though, it will be important to release any pre-conceived ideas about what you classify as gifts and talents.

Many times the gifts and talents that a soul has are used throughout their everyday lives in a variety of ways. Some of these gifts and talents can be providing a sense of peace or calmness to others, spreading happiness and joy, being understanding & empathic and even mastering inner awareness.

Gifts and talents of this nature can be expressed through many jobs, hobbies and interactions. Our gifts and talents are not always our career title, and I find that this is a common misconception.

If you are a soul who has a gift of spreading happiness, you may work as a teacher, volunteer at an animal shelter, work as a cashier or any other position where you interact with many other souls (human and/or animal).

In the past, I worked as an office manager for a collection agency, and many of the souls who worked on the phones there had the gift of spreading happiness. You may wonder how this is so, especially since collection agencies are often equated with angry phone operators and bad morals; but, I saw spreading happiness in action every day.

The most successful collectors were people who would actually make friends with the people on the other end of the line, offering them different arrangements to take care of an outstanding debt. Some of the collectors even received Christmas cards and other nice letters from the people that they helped. This just goes to show the power of positivity can change any situation.

So, how do you know what your gifts and talents are? One way to find out is to look at the activities that you are drawn to. Are you someone whom everyone tells their problems to? Or, do you find yourself more comfortable in solitude? Was there something that you loved to do as a child? This will often be a big clue as to where your gifts and talents lie.

There are also wonderful spiritual tools out there to help you to answer this question. You can meditate on it, look at your natal chart, or ask someone who can communicate with your guides and read you akashic record. Most of all, your gifts and talents will be where you find happiness in your heart. Once you find what it is that makes your heart sing, then you will know that you are living a life aligned with your gift and talents.
