Question on How to Enhance One's Spiritual Connection

Dear Aurora, My spiritual awakening happened after I was initiated into Reiki in 2005 and I have been 'working' on myself ever since and have progressed steadily over the years. I have read many spiritual books and regularly read channelings and messages on the internet. My question is I would love to have my own direct contact with my guides and angels and the spirit world but so far nothing. Am I blocking myself in some way or is it all about Divine timing, when the time is right for me, it will happen effortlessly?

Let me first assure you that you do have a direct connection with the spirits working with you, they have just remained in the background while you have done the work on yourself. In order to get the type of connection that you are looking for, may I suggest that you stop reading books and other channeled material for a time, and use that time instead to do some journaling. Do not worry about spelling or grammar, it is important also not to judge your own writing as it comes out.

Sometimes when there is so much information coming in from other sources, it can be more difficult to hear what messages are coming from the world of Spirit. Just start with a 30 day self-imposed ban on reading and for those 30 days just pick up a pen and paper and ask for any messages to come forward before you begin. Sometimes you may have trouble and feel stuck, but it is important to write that. As long as you write something for at least 10 minutes a day, you will be able to get through the chatter of the day that is in your head and then all that remains will be the words from Spirit that is working with you. If you find that you still don't have the desired results in 30 days, try extending the exercise until you get that message of confirmation that you are looking for. You have done enough research and reading, now it is time to trust yourself and trust Spirit on what messages will come through. You will soon see that connection continue to grow.
